WORLD SUICIDE PREVENTION DAY ACTIVITIES-2019

On 31 August 2019, WSPD Activities are launched by Asst Collector and DM & HO in the presence of all District Medical officers by releasing the Pamphlets.
On 1st September PRESS MEET was organised by Dr. Sateesh Babu. IMA President, Secretary and Secretary of Khammam Psychiatric Society participated
On 2nd September Pamphlets were distributed in Bus stand and Railway station particularly to villagers and farmers
On 3rd September an Awareness Class was organised for Health workers and Nursing staff in Govt Hospital. Around 30 people attended.
4th September, an Awareness Class was conducted in Government Junior college for Girls around 600 students attended. Good interactive session was organised.
5th September, an Awareness Class was Organised in Stadium for Walkers and Physical Education Trainees. More than 100 people attended
On 6th September, an Awareness Class was organised in a Junior college in rural area. Around 450 students Participated in the program.
On 7th September, as a part of WSPD Activities a Rally was organised in Khammam from Pavilion ground to Govt Hospital.Rally was flagged off by Hon'ble State Transport Minister Sri Puvvada Ajay kumar
In the presence of DM &HO, IMA President,Secretary,local IMA doctors,Social activists, Medical Students,Nursing Students and Khammam Psychiatric Society Members. Around 150 members attended the rally. On the end Rally was addressed by Hospital Superintendent and other official . Electronic media and Print media covered the Rally well.
On 8th September, Pamphlets were distributed to farmers and explained about Suicide Prevention in near by Villages like Polepally and Muttagudem

On 10th September, A Candle Rally was Organised in the evening around 7.30 pm. For Rally we have invited a person whose sister had committed Suicide. He explained his and his family’s traumatic experience very emotionally and gave his advice to the rally participants. Rally was flagged off by the Mayor Dr Papalal. Psychiatrists, IMA Doctors,Social activists around 40 people participated in the rally.
